Kia Scherr responds to the arrest of David Headley

Kia responds to the arrest of David Headley, charged with aiding and abetting the Mumbai Terrorist Attack

“Though my loss still causes me much grief, I am grateful for the support of the FBI, who called me personally and informed me of the news. My hope is that Headley cooperates fully and discloses all information to aid in the investigation of 26/11.

“Anger, judgment and revenge will not serve the greater good. I will continue to honor the sacredness and oneness of all life and share this experience with others. I believe that together we can make a difference when we live with this perspective. This is why I have co-founded One Life Alliance, an organization that honors the sacredness and oneness of life, first in ourselves and then in each other. While this news brings up many emotions, it also inspires me to create the conversation that is so badly needed in this world.

“Headley allegedly traveled to Mumbai to identify targets for the attack. Ironically, during this time, my husband also went to Mumbai to scout locations for a modern meditation retreat. Had the terrorists, and Headley, been taught the sacredness and oneness of all life, perhaps we would not be in this position today.”

I wrote on your Facebook page Kia that this was hard news to process. The way you have expressed your reaction above, especiall the phrase "Anger, judgment and revenge will not serve the greater good" help me not to get into judgment and anger.

"The sacred is in the ordinary. It is to be found in one's daily life, in one's neighbors, friends and family... in one's own backyard. To be looking elsewhere for miracles is to me a sure sign of ignorance that everything is miraculous."
