One Life Projects

The Peace Dragon project is the loving response of Linda Ragsdale, author/illustrator, to honor a request made by Naomi. Prior to the terrorists entering the restaurant, Linda and Naomi were planning their Friday activities: to break their pool summersault record, attempt Mendhi designs on their arms, and Linda was supposed to teach Naomi how to draw dragons. This site hopes to fulfill that request.

The Peace Dragon project is a creative arts site dedicated to inspiring children of the world to celebrate individual differences as an infinite source of possibilities to resolutions in art and life; it opens the global doorway to participate in an inclusive, non-judgmental environment of artistic expression with a focus on creating peaceful images; it encourages challenging the validity of existing myths by exploring the transformation of the peaceful, benevolent dragon into a malevolent, aggressive creature, and to re-establish its original stature through presentations in all disciplines.

Linda Ragsdale is an award-winning designer, author and illustrator. Her how to draw series, The Amazing Step-By-Step Art Card Studio, utilizes letters and shapes to establish the unique aspect of the artists own handwriting, or signature, to release the artist from comparing their work to anyone but their own. The books open the door to explore and the confidence to try. The first two books are on second reprint, the third having sold out at delivery; the fourth and fifth books are following suit. She travels to schools around the country teaching and drawing with kids and parents of all ages.

Her first book, Creative Cardboard: Making Fabulous Furniture, Amazing Accessories & Other Spectacular Stuff, placed her in front of television cameras demonstrating art techniques on the top rated cable craft television shows. She works in a variety of mediums to express her creative ventures.
